Adult Career and Continuing Education Services (ACCES-VR)

Referrals, peer support, and independent living Reimbursement for career advancement training, reasonable accommodation (contact [email protected]), and transportation (offered based on your income, might require you to have a Social Security Disability Insurance available to certain low-income people with disability that posses an eligible immigration status) Job development for those whose disability impedes seeking employment (you must be legally allowed to work in the US) Applications for public benefits (immigration status and income requirements apply) Help is offered to NYC residents with physical and mental challenges. People with a criminal record of sexual violence are not served.

  • You can visit, call, or mail them the application VR-04 in your preferred language. All participants are required to fill out VR-26 - Confidential Health Assessment and VR-21 General Health Impairments and/or VR-22 Substance Use Disorders or Mental Health Conditions to verify your disability and other eligibility criteria. Participants 14-18 years old and non-emancipated individuals must have a guardian's consent.
  • General orientation every Tuesday at 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM (excluding Holidays) is available to people over 25.
  • Interpreter and ASL services are available.
  • Picture ID is required to enter the building.
