Bronx Westchester Area Health Education Center (BW AHEC)

• NYS AHEC Scholars is a year-round program offered to people enrolled in health-related undergraduate degrees graduating in two years. Apply here

• Summer Health Internship Program (SHIP) for high-schoolers to intern at a hospital and be shown different medical specialties they might pursue later
• Community Health Experience (CHE) for graduate medical students and public health students, call to see if your degree qualifies

• Open Monday to Friday 9 AM to 5 PM

• All programs are available to US citizens and Green Card holders (although you should ask if your immigration status qualifies, especially if you are not undocumented and are legally present here) living or working/studying in the Bronx/Westchester. Your GPA does not matter, as long as it meets minimal requirements at your school. There are other programs for every borough on YourPeer, just search "AHEC".
